Chetham’s School of Music presents this four-day celebration to mark the 150th anniversary of Delius’s birth, focussing on both the music and life of Delius, with the renowned concert cellist Raphael Wallfisch as the featured artist, guest Conductor, Dane Lam, and narrator, Jonathan Keeble, with contributions from Delius experts, Dr Lionel Carley and Lionel Friend.

The symphonic concerts will be given by musicians from Chetham’s, with guest players from the youth orchestras, of the Hallé and the Liverpool Philharmonic. A new and free exhibition, Delius in France, will be held in The Oglesby Atrium in Chetham’s new School Building. In addition to the performances by Chetham’s musicians and guest artists, Delius’s music will be explored by over 300 young people through music-making sessions given in workshops in Bradford and Manchester.
The Delius 150th Anniversary Celebration has been generously supported by The Delius Trust and The Delius Society and is recommended by Classic FM.
