Northern Opera Group is planning a production of Delius’s first opera Irmelin, which will be only the second staging, (after Beecham’s in 1953). The production has the support of the Delius Trust and it is understood that a reduced orchestration will be used. Dates will be announced on the Concerts’ page in due course.
Opera Holland Park has announced that its 2020 Season will include five new productions, including Delius’s Margot la Rouge, to be presented in a double bill with Puccini’s Le Villi. Delius’s only verismo opera will be performed in its original orchestration. Five public performances are planned, with the generous support of the Delius Trust.
