To coincide with his new recording of the Delius Piano Concerto with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Jan Latham Koenig for the SOMM label, pianist Mark Bebbington discusses Delius’s Piano Concerto and also performs the Three Preludes and ‘On Hearing the First Cuckoo in Spring’ for piano duet, with pianist Irene Loh, in the transcription by Peter Warlock. Mark’s talk will be illustrated with extracts from the recording and the new CD will be on sale.
The new recording has been David Mellor’s ‘Album of the Week’ in the Mail on Sunday and Geoff Brown’s ‘CD Choice’ in The Times.
